Brave Litherland neighbour attacked with machete by burglars

A FATHER was stabbed in the arm after disturbing burglars at his neighbour’s home.

The 53-year-old man needed emergency surgery after being slashed in his forearm by what was thought to be a machete.

The attack happened outside a flat on Condron Road North, Litherland, at around 11pm on Saturday. It is thought the victim and his 27-year-old son may have disturbed burglars at a neighbour's flat and were attacked when they went outside to investigate. The 27-year-old suffered minor injuries after being punched by one of the offenders.

Three young men, aged between 15 and 20 years, were seen outside the flats at the time of the attack and police want to speak to them. Call Copy Lane CID on 0151 777 3165.
