Belle Vale shopping centre
THE body of a woman in her 50s was discovered at a city shopping centre this morning.
Police were called to Belle Vale shopping centre at 8.15am today.
At this stage police believe the woman either jumped or fell from the three-storey car park, landing on a first-floor walkway.
The shopping centre was closed when the incident happened, but is open as usual now.
Police said the woman was from the Childwall area and a family member had been informed.
At this stage the woman’s injuries were not known.
It is not known how long the woman’s body had been there.
A North West Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
She said: "An ambulance car, an ambulance and a manager to support the paramedics was sent to the scene.
"The body of the deceased has been taken to the city mortuary."
