Liverpool murder gang locked up for total of 123 years

A GANG who shot dead a cyclist from point-blank range have been jailed for a total of 123 years.

The Recorder of Liverpool, Judge Henry Globe, QC, branded the murder of David Garrity, 32, an “act of utmost cowardice and brutality”.

He jailed brothers Stephen Coulter, 25, of Renwick Street, Walton and Lee, 30, of Store Street, Bootle, along with accomplice Jason Sunderland, 37, of no fixed address, for life with a minimum of 32 years.

Wesley Porter, 23, of Argos Place, Walton, who provided the murder weapon, will serve at least 27 years.

They had all been unanimously convicted of the murder on June 15, 2008, by a Liverpool Crown Court jury who had heard that it had been sparked by gang warfare.
