Man found hanging in Liverpools Sefton Park

POLICE were still last night trying to identify a man who was found hanging from a swing in Sefton Park.

His body was discovered in a children’s play area by a dog walker at around 6.45am yesterday.

The body is believed to be that of a man aged in his 20s.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious and said he has “not been formally identified”.

Park user Delroy Burris told the Daily Post: “Where it had happened was on the swings near the footpath. The police had put a blue tent up by the swings.

“About 1pm the police opened the section back up to the public.

“It’s really sad that this has happened in such an atmospheric park, especially in the play area.”
