THE Liverpool Daily Post has launched a new website to give readers direct access to the city’s main political parties.

LiverpoolPartyCentral.co.uk is a ground-breaking website managed and run by the city’s politicians themselves.

It was designed to allow members of Liverpool’s Labour, Liberal Democrat, Conservative, Liberal and Green parties to directly communicate with the public.

They will not only debate their views on the big issues affecting you, but they will also be answering questions put to them by Post readers.

Liverpool Daily Post editor Mark Thomas said the new site was launched just in time for the local and general election campaigns.

He said: “The 2010 general election campaign and the May 6 local elections will be the first to fully reflect the revolution in digital communication which has swept the world.

“The Liverpool Daily Post will take full advantage of the exciting opportunity this presents to bring our readers the most in-depth, comprehensive multi-platform election coverage we have ever undertaken.”

Although the site’s launch coincides with election fever, the site is a long-term project which will allow politicians to keep the Liverpool public fully informed way beyond May 6.

Mr Thomas added: “LiverpoolPartyCentral.co.uk represents a terrific resource for you to find out what all the parties are saying and to understand their views on all the local and national issues which are dominating the campaign.

“It will help you to make a truly informed choice on who you want to represent you at local and national level in the months and years ahead.”
