Daily Post columnist Jane Costello scoops Romantic Comedy Award

ROMANTIC fiction author and Daily Post columnist Jane Costello scooped an award for her most recent book at a prestigious ceremony held yesterday.

Jane won the Romantic Comedy Award for her second novel, The Nearly-Weds, which the judges described as “a witty, at times laugh-out-loud romance, full of great characters”.

The event in London, hosted by critic and TV personality Barry Norman, marked the 50th anniversary of the Romantic Novelists’ Association.

Jane, 36, who lives in Allerton and is a former editor of the Daily Post, said afterwards: “I am absolutely thrilled and completely stunned by the award.

“The book is set in Liverpool, which is my home town. I never thought I stood a chance because the people I was up against are amazing writers and I have been a fan of their writing for years.”

Jane Costello will be discussing the road to becoming an author during an interview tomorrow at 12.30pm as part of the Daily Post’s LiveRead online literary festival.
