THERE is just one week to go before the deadline for entries for the 2010 Regional Business Awards.

Companies large and small from across our region have already told us why they believe they deserve recognition for their successes in the last year – and we want you to tell us about your achievements too.

Two of the most-coveted awards are the KPMG Business of the Year and DLA Piper Business Person of the Year. Ian Goalen, senior partner at KPMG Liverpool, said the Regional Business Awards demonstrate why the local business community is well-placed to look to the future.

“Merseyside is home to a vast range of businesses, spanning all sectors of the economy, from household names to niche companies, and from multinationals to sole traders,” he said.

“All will have experienced their own ups and downs over the last 12 months as they’ve worked hard to combat the effects of the recession.

“But while the events of the last year have been a real test of character – it’s a test that many local businesses have passed with flying colours.

“The KPMG Business of the Year Award is designed to acknowledge and celebrate businesses for their successes and achievements, and recognise them for the important contribution they make to our local economy.
