Ifaw criticise Canada for raising annual seal hunt quota

CAMPAIGNERS have criticised the Canadian government for raising quotas for the annual harp seal hunt despite “disastrous” ice conditions and lack of a market for the animal products.

The International Fund for Animal Welfare (Ifaw) said the ice, where the harp seals give birth and raise their pups, was at record lows – threatening the survival of the babies.
