6am: Alarm goes off. I reach for my iPhone to check overnight emails and quickly check the morning's business news. The business pages are all carrying articles on the Bank of England keeping the cost of borrowing at 0.5%, marking a year of the lowest rates in its 316-year history. More good news for those lucky enough to have tracker mortgages.
7am: The house comes alive as the children get up. I shower, get dressed and I am out of the door on the way to work.
8am: I arrive at my office at One Park West. It's an absolutely glorious day and spring finally seems to have arrived. The views across the Albert Dock and River Mersey are particularly stunning.
I meet with the team and discuss the agenda for the day ahead. Following a successful first year of sales at what was Grosvenor's best-selling development in the country in 2009, we're organising an Open House weekend on March 26.
It includes a food festival, a Grand National-themed day of fashion and lifestyle tips and a series of seminars from leading property experts, so plenty to organise.
9.00am: Fran, our “man who can” pops in to tell us about the furnishing of the flats we have just undertaken. And he’s armed with an invoice!
10.00am: Another meeting with the winners of an interior design competition we recently ran. Their prize is to create two new show apartments at the development, which will be revealed to the public for the first time during the Open House weekend later this month.
11.00am: I grab a coffee with One Park West's development executive Dan Symonds to discuss the logistics for the Open House weekend. He tells me we have just confirmed chef Paul Askew, from The London Carriage Works, Hope Street, to give a cookery masterclass on the Sunday, which is fantastic news.
1.00pm: I take a phone call from Martyn Green at King Sturge, our sales and lettings agent, who talks me through investor referrals and any potential new tenants. He takes me through some ideas for his presentation for the Open House event.
1:30pm: The team break for lunch, but we order in from Yo! Sushi because it'sŠso manic at the moment. I continue to sift through the many emails as well as catching up with our London office about other portfolios across the UK.
2.30pm: I contact Matthew Carragher of Savills Private Finance, who will be delivering mortgage market updates, as well as providing an insight in to the Liverpool property market on the Friday during our open weekend. Some interesting research was to be presented. We talk for a good hour about the state of the market in general.
4.00pm: Another confirmation for the open weekend. Former Miss Liverpool Christine Martin, and her husband-to- be and comedian, Paddy McGuinness, are to put in a special appearance over the weekend.
5.30pm: We build our relationships with our management team and commercial tenants mainly by going out once or twice a week and also at weekends. Tonight we are off to the new Hilton Hotel and we're entertaining our One Park West lawyers, Brabners Chaffe Street.
7.00pm: I meet with an old college friend for dinner at the Sir Thomas Hotel. We share a couple of bottles of Chablis and talk about everything from property to rugby.
I opt for fillet steak with béarnaise sauce and a side order of French-fries.
9.00pm: Since I am up early and on a six o'clock train in the morning, I retire back to the development where Grosvenor has its own studio apartment for staff. I catch up on any outstanding emails and call my wife to find out how her day was.
