MORE than 100 young unemployed people have been placed into work in the past two months through Local Solutions’ Future Jobs Fund.
Roles include positions within the Mount Vernon-based organisation as well as external opportunities with the Citizens’ Advice Bureau and jobs in nursing, media, design and engineering.
The Future Jobs Fund was launched at the Liverpool ECHO Arena by Wallasey MP Angela Eagle and hopes to achieve its target of getting a further 300 people into work by the end of this month.
Marketing coordinator Stephen Leftley said they managed to match 152 clients to a variety of vacancies at the launch event.
He said: “We also created more jobs on the day in conjunction with our Work Placement Hosts due to the high calibre of candidates.”
One lucky job seeker was Alexandra Stutely, 24, who had expressed an interest in administration work.
She was introduced to Christine Chellew, events manager of the Rhys Jones Memorial Fund, who, after an impromptu interview, offered her a job on the spot.
