MERSEYSIDE’S former chief constable Bernard Hogan-Howe is coming back to Liverpool.
Mr Hogan-Howe spent five years in the top post before leaving the force last October to join Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary.
But he will be back in the city to deliver a Roscoe Lecture at Liverpool John Moores university on Monday March 22.
Entitled The Challenges For Policing Modern Britain, it takes place at 5pm in the Philharmonic Hall and will outline the steps he took to reduce crime in Liverpool.
During his tenure in Merseyside, Mr Hogan-Howe received plaudits for his work cracking down on weapon offences and was at the helm during the successful prosecution of Rhys Jones’ killer Sean Mercer.
