Thieves smash way into West Kirby jewellers
THIEVES used a brick to smash their way into a window display at a Wirral jewellers.
The two men fled to a waiting car after stealing gems from Crescent Jewellers, in West Kirby, yesterday morning.
They dropped the brick before escaping in a silver Vauxhall Astra which was parked in Tynwald Road and turned left into North Road.
No-one was injured although staff were left shaken.
Merseyside Police said the men escaped with a quantity of items.
House-to-house inquiries are being carried out and high-visibility patrols were stepped up.
Inspector Steve McGuinness said: “We are keen to trace the offenders involved in this smash and grab. The area was busy with shoppers at the time.”
