Widnes transport group Suttons in £6m investment

SUTTONS, the Widnes-based global logistics provider, has announced new investment worth £6m to increase its tanks capacity.

The transport group said the order for 400 26,000 litre isotanks from NT Tanks in China will support its continued international expansion.

It said delivery of the new addition to capacity should begin from May this year.

The company, which specialises in moving bulk liquids and chemicals around the world, revealed that the latest order takes its investment in new tanks to more than £12.5m during the past year, increasing the size of its fleet by almost a third.

Suttons is one of the fastest growing businesses in the UK and it said the new tanks are vital as the company continues to develop its business with major international customers including BASF, Bayer and Huntsman.

Group managing director Andrew Palmer said: “This latest investment continues the process of expanding and upgrading Suttons’ tank fleet.

“It means we can respond and offer our customers increased capacity underpinned by our absolute commitment to safety and excellent levels of customer service.”

Suttons’ headquarters is based in Widnes, Cheshire and operates globally with key business centres in New Jersey, Houston, Antwerp, Essen, Le Havre, Kuantan, Shanghai and Tokyo.
