Merchant Taylor plans

THIS is the exclusive first look at the £5.5m new sports complex opening at a Merseyside school next year.

The image shows how the hi-tech facility at Crosby’s Merchant Taylors’ school will look when it opens to pupils next year.

With planning permission already secured, governors have now given the go-ahead for the project, which complements the top performing school’s aim to ensure its facilities match the quality of education.

Located at the Boys’ School site on Liverpool Road, the development has been designed by Manchester-based Buttress Fuller Alsop Williams Architects and will be utilised by all pupils from the family of Merchant Taylors’ schools.

And the Daily Post can reveal it will include a dance studio, fitness suite and a large indoor facility equipped to provide top facilities for a host of sports including rugby training, football, hockey, volleyball, tennis, badminton and indoor cricket.

It will also have multi-use classrooms and indoor and outdoor spectator facilities.
