ALMOST £500,000 is being spent modernising three railway stations.
A new shop and ticket office have already opened at Hooton, where a new shelter on the Liverpool-bound platform will be fitted in the next few weeks.
At Rock Ferry, a new waiting room will be opened on the island platform, while the booking hall and entrance will get better security and lighting.
At Meols, the footbridge windows and staircase will have new glazing and enclosed waiting shelters will be created.
The schemes are funded by Merseytravel and the National Stations Improvement Programme.
