A MAN died and two women were admitted to hospital after taking what is thought to be a “dangerous batch” of amphetamine.
The admissions at University Hospital Aintree all occurred within a 12-hour period on Saturday.
The dead man, thought to be in his 30s, did not arrive with the two women.
He was able to talk to medical staff, but later died in hospital.
One of the women, both of whom are also in their 30s, was discharged yesterday morning.
The other woman has been kept in hospital under observation. She is said to be in a stable condition.
All three reported similar symptoms including excessive agitation, excessive confusion, fitting and nausea.
