VISITORS to Chester Food and Drink Festival made the most of the sunshine, with 17,000 people packing out the racecourse over the first two days.
Competition was fierce in the semi-finals of the Young Chef award, with one successful cook from each of the Year four, five and six age categories going on to battle it out in the final today.
TV chef Simon Rimmer drew the crowds on Saturday, while the inaugural BeerFest element of the event, boasting 40 guest ales, also proved popular.
