FORMER Chester City FC owner Stephen Vaughan and his son were arrested in connection with an incident which left a police officer with a fractured cheek.
Businessman Mr Vaughan, 48, and Stephen Vaughan Jnr, 25, a former Chester City FC captain, were at the Jug and Bottle in Heswall on the evening of Sunday, April 4, at the time of an alleged disturbance.
The pair, along with a 29-year-old man from Neston, were arrested on suspicion of affray and assault of a police officer.
The three men were released on police bail until May pending further inquiries.
Mr Vaughan Snr took over as chairman and majority shareholder of Chester City FC in 2001 but following relegation back to the Conference last year the club was wound up.
