A PUNTER scooped more than £200,000 at the Grand National.
Richard Laurie, 54, won £205,000 after betting on Don’t Push It to win at odds of 40-1.
Mr Laurie, who won £50,000 in the 1998 Grand National, after taking a tip from the Daily Post’s sister paper, the Liverpool Echo, used a different tipster this year to place a bet as early as February.
Mr Laurie, of Jersey, said: “I was hysterical. It has only just about sunk in.”
“I do not bet for the money, it is for the love of the race. I have walked the course at Aintree and there is no other race like it.”
He said after winning so much over the years, his next ambition was to buy a horse. Mr Laurie, who was staying at the Manor Guest House, in Aintree, passed his tip to other guests, who all won.
Owner John Carew said: “It was amazing. We are the lucky guest house.”
