Wirral Sunset music festival gets green light

WIRRAL’S largest-ever music festival will go ahead after a District Judge ruled that Wirral Council could give the organisers a licence for the event.

The Sunset Festival, at White’s Farm, in Thurstaston, was given the go-ahead by the local authority late last year but faced an objection which ended up at Wirral Magistrates Court.

Melanie and Liam Walker, residents from near where the festival is due to take place in May, had appealed against the licence and the judge changed some conditions, limiting hours of entertainment, although the organisers said it meant no major changes to their plans.

The 7,500-capacity festival will take place over the late May bank holiday with rapper Tinchy Stryder among those headlining the weekend event.
