Mankey Monkeys go on display at Sefton Park Palm House before auction for Alder Hey Imagine Appeal
SOME of the cuddly creatures which make up part of Liverpool’s new quirky public art project will go under the hammer for the Alder Hey Imagine Appeal.
Schoolchildren from Merseyside were among the first people yesterday to see all of the 101 Mankey Monkeys before they go to new homes.
The 3ft sculptures are on display at Sefton Park’s Palm House until 40 of them go under the hammer on Thursday.
T4 presenters Matt Littler and Darren Jeffries are confirmed as hosts for the Mankey Monkey Grand Charity Auction, at the Palm House.
More than 80 businesses took part in the project by fostering monkeys to help raise money for the appeal.
David and Eirin Hallangen-Lake, of Hallangen Art, co-founded the Mankey Monkey project with Your Business eZine and It’s About Websites.
David said: “We hope people continue to support the event and dig deep to support this very worthy cause.”
