MADONNA is famous throughout the world for her spectacular and elaborate dance routines.

So it was a real coup for the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA) when her principal dancer and choreographer dropped by to give students a masterclass.

Steve Nestar jetted in from Holland especially to spend a day with final-year dance students, sharing some of the moves he has performed with the Queen of Pop since 2005.

He first appeared with her in the Hung Up video, and has gone on to work with her for two world tours, numerous videos and for a Michael Jackson tribute night.

He described Madonna as an “extremely demanding” employer who expected her choreographers to produce around 10 different options for each routine, from which she would eventually choose one.

He said: “My job on stage is to make someone else look good, which is the hardest part.

“But while Madonna is tough on the job, she is laid back in real life and a very kind person with a good heart.

“Very few people are that close to her, but as soon as she trusts you, she is even more demanding.

“I don’t consider myself an employee, I’m a friend and someone she knows is talented enough to handle the job.”

As well as Madonna, Steve, 32, has worked with some of the biggest names in showbiz.
