CLAREMONT Farm is celebrating the first taste of Summer – a few days early.
The farm at Old Clatterbridge Road, Bebington, has staff working around the clock as the asparagus harvest has begun.
Normally the season runs from May day until midsummer’s day, but the warm weather has brought it forward.
Farmer Andrew Pimbley said: “It’s the most eagerly anticipated crop of the year – we’re expecting a rush on it this weekend. We have 18 acres here, and we’re planning another seven just to keep up with demand.”
