The runners up in what was a closely contested category were Regal Wholesale and rival web agency ICE.
The NWDA Medium Business of the Year, open to firms employing between 50 and 250 staff, was won by fast growing Birkenhead based call centre firm The Contact Company.
The judges said that during their visit to the firm’s head office they saw for themselves the passion, energy and enthusiasm from this business. “It is led by a really dynamic team with focus and a sense of excitement about what they do. With solid and continued growth and outstanding word of mouth reputation, the Contact Company is a real local success story,” the judges said.
The runners-up, in what was another closely- fought category, were Wirral-based CPL Training and B&M Waste Services.
The Liverpool Vision Investment of the Year awards was won by bus operator Arriva North West which has pumped £100m into a new fleet of local buses.
Isla Gladstone and Aerelink were the runners up.
The KLM Export Business of the Year category was won by AEV.
The judges said: “This locally based and family owned business has an extremely high proportion of sales overseas with offices in Barcelona, Malaysia and Asia.”
The runners up in the category were Colormatrix Europe and RS Clare.
The Liverpool John Moores University Knowledge Business of the Year was named as Daresbury-based software firm Tech X. The firm designs software used to analyse particle physics experiments.
The runners-up in the category were Scraperwiki and Components XS.
The Liverpool Hope University Green Award was won by B&M Waste Services, which the judges said was a forward thinking business with a huge commitment to meeting challenging enviromental demands with the ulitmate aim of achieving 100% recycling.
Runners up in the category were Liverpool One Management Company and The Printroom UK.
The Liverpool Daily Post Judges Choice Award was made to CPL Training for its enterprise, energy, diversification and overseas expansion.
The judges said: “The pure commitment, enterprise and effort shown by this business deserved commendation at this year’s awards.”
