Yoko Ono, Aaron Johnson and Sam Taylor-Wood honoured with Glamour Awards

JOHN Lennon was the inspiration behind three Glamour Awards at a glittering ceremony last night.

His widow Yoko Ono was honoured with an Outstanding Contribution award at the annual Glamour Magazine Awards held at Berkeley Square Gardens, in central London.

Aaron Johnson, the 19-year-old actor who played Lennon in his early years in the film Nowhere Boy, was voted Man Of The Year. He picked up his gong from Doctor Who star Karen Gillan.

Johnson’s pregnant fiancee Sam Taylor-Wood, who directed him in the movie, won Filmmaker Of The Year.

The couple’s romance blossomed while filming the movie on location in Liverpool and they are now expecting their first baby later this year.

Other winners included Cheryl Cole who was named Woman Of The Year and her protege Alexandra Burke who won Newcomer Of The Year.
