LIVERPOOL One’s Odeon cinema will soon have an Imax screen.
The new screen is due to open its doors to the public on Friday, July 2, and will offer cinema-goers a unique film experience – screening films in both Imax and Imax 3-D formats.
To mark the arrival, Dreamworks’ Shrek Forever After will be shown on the Imax screen in 3-D.
Special technology maximises the field of view, creating the effect of putting guests in any of the screen’s 288 seats, within the film itself.
Imax’s new audio system also delivers laser-aligned digital sound to envelop the audience and special loudspeaker technology should allow the audience to pinpoint the exact location of a sound.
Phil Westhead, manager of Odeon Liverpool One said: “Just 18 months from first opening our doors to film fans in the North West, we’re delighted to be adding the IMAX experience to our portfolio as well. We’re looking forward to sharing the latest technology with our audiences.”
