STARS of the community turned out at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral last night for the Spirit of Merseyside Awards.
The awards, in their fifth year, are run by the Community Foundation for Merseyside and saw Sky Sports presenter Rob Palmer win the Celebrity Champion Award for his work with local charity Stick ‘n’ Step.
Rob has been involved with the Wirral-based charity providing conductive education therapy to children with Cerebral Palsy across the North West, since 2003.
Bootle Salvation Army won the Prosperous Communities Award, sponsored by Trinity Mirror Merseyside, for their work with the elderly, the homeless, and those with addiction or mental health issues.
