A BOMB disposal unit was called to investigate a suspect package outside a Liverpool police station.
Police were called to West Derby Road at around 7.15pm on Saturday and swarmed around a telephone box, just yards from the front doorstep of Tuebrook station.
Officers who saw the package summoned the bomb disposal unit.
Pubs including The Park and The Victoria were evacuated, along with the station, and fish and chip shops. A controlled explosion was carried out at around 9pm. Two teenage boys, 14 and 17, a girl, 16, and a man were apprehended and quizzed about the package. The 17-year-old and 16- year-old were last night both released on bail.
