Eco cars for Liverpool Council’s green team
LIVERPOOL Council’s environmental enforcement team is green and clean thanks to its four new electric cars – which have zero carbon emissions.
When they are re-charged at one of six locations across the city, the electricity used is 100% green because it is all generated from renewable sources.
The team will use the cars to travel around all areas of the city, where they will crack down on anti-social behaviour such as littering, fly-tipping and people not cleaning up after their dog.
Cllr Tim Moore, Liverpool Council’s cabinet member for the environment, said: “It is fantastic that these green vehicles are hitting the streets.
“It makes sense that it is our environmental staff, who are committed to keeping our streets clean, who are the first to be using such a clean mode of transport.”
