Chance to go behind the scenes at Liverpool’s Everyman theatre

MEMBERS of the public are being invited to take backstage tours of the Everyman theatre.

The free tours and drop-in sessions will run once a week until September 3.

Each backstage tour will also be followed by a short presentation of the plans for the new multi-million pound theatre which will be built on the Hope Street site.

The Everyman and Playhouse and architect Haworth Tompkins have already consulted a range of people about the proposed plans.

They include a 400-seat auditorium, community, rehearsal and office spaces.

The tours will give visitors the chance to tread in the footsteps of the likes of Everyman alumni Pete Postlethwaite, Jonathan Pryce and Julie Walters, and experience the theatre from the perspective of those who have worked in it during its 46 years.

Places are free but limited to 15 people per tour.
