THE North West Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) has been appointed to co-ordinate support to British businesses by the MAS service nationwide to help them seize commercial opportunities from the rapidly expanding civil nuclear market.
MAS will provide specialist market information and product development advice to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to enable them to maximise their potential.
Paul Fewtrell, head of MAS-NW said: “The nuclear programme offers enormous opportunities for SMEs across the UK, and to maximise this opportunity MAS-NW’s lead role as an honest broker will encourage and support new suppliers into the nuclear supply chains.
“However, urgent action is required to ensure UK businesses can compete effectively with international competitors to secure large elements of the supply chain and source products locally.”
He said the organisation will deliver a number of nuclear supply chain awareness events, as well as delivering front-line specialist support and back-up to the regional MAS providers.
