PRINCE Harry was well and truly in the doghouse when he visited the headquarters of charity Canine Partners.
The prince spent time playing with some of the puppies being put through their paces by their volunteer handlers at the organisation’s headquarters near Midhurst, in Sussex.
Canine Partners was founded 20 years ago and is funded entirely by voluntary contributions. It receives its puppies from breeders, private individuals and rescue centres to be trained to help people with disabilities.
When the prince met some of the young canine students, he could not resist having a cuddle with an eight-week-old Labrador puppy.
And handler Jill Chandler tried to put her four-month-old golden retriever, called Trudy, though its paces, teaching it to jump on to a small plastic step – the first stage in learning how to jump on to a counter to pay for an owner’s goods.
