Ann Widdecombe to step onto the dancefloor in Strictly Come Dancing

FORMER MP Ann Widdecombe has waltzed off the floor of the Commons to commandeer the dance floor – as a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing.

The ex-shadow home secretary will be among the line-up of stars in September along with former Good Life star Felicity Kendall, according to TV sources.

Rugby star Gavin Henson, the former fiancee of singer Charlotte Church has also been in talks about taking a role on the show.

Miss Widdecombe, 62, has been approached to take part in the show in past years, but kept the door open by saying she would think about competing “once I’ve retired”.

Bruce Forsyth has said he expects to return as show host.
