TAKING the children to the beach used to mean a trip to New Brighton – but that has all changed after Liverpool One took delivery of 260 tonnes of sand.
In a deliberate summer follow-up to last year’s big wheel and winter events, Chavasse Park now boasts the UK’s biggest mobile rollercoaster, a cocktail bar, a barbecue, a 100 sq m paddling pool and fairground games for children.
Early morning tai chi, boxercise and beach volleyball will also be available.
Liverpool One’s estate manager Chris Bliss said: “It is about making the whole day fun, from tai chi at 7.30am to shopping throughout the day, and then having some food and a drink, spending less than if you went out twice.
“We have something here for everyone, from families to the late crowd.”
Paradise In The Park opens on Thursday at 10am.
