Liverpool’s Chavasse Park transformed into beach

LIVERPOOL’S Chavasse Park was transformed into a beach for the summer holidays.

Some 260 tonnes of sand was brought into Liverpool One on 13 trucks for Paradise In The Park.

It features rides and fairground attractions, including the UK’s biggest mobile rollercoaster Shark Bite, standing at 20 metres high with 40 metres of track.

Along with the huge sand area, the beach included a clear blue sea – 100 sq m of water – a bandstand and a cocktail bar.

People can take part in morning fitness classes on the sand and beach volleyball and can listen to live music.

The area is open between 10am and 6pm, from Monday to Sunday, until August 31.
