LIVERPOOL council has extended its redundancy offer to all staff earning over £40,000.
Initially, the council made the offer to all managers earning over £60,000, but says with the expected cuts to local government spending it is necessary to further reduce the wage bill for senior managers.
Letters have now been sent out to staff inviting them to take part.
Council leader Joe Anderson said: “There are tough times ahead for local government and we are acting now in readiness for the reductions in spending we know are coming.”
