A BOY left clinging to life after plunging 20ft through a glass skylight to a concrete factory floor was responding to treatment last night.
Michael McCarthy, 14, from Bootle suffered serious head injuries after the accident at Allerton Windows on Irlam Road, Bootle, on Thursday evening.
The schoolboy was taken to Fazakerley Hospital and later transferred to Alder Hey where he was described as being in critical condition.
It is believed a neighbour in Irlam Road risked his own life to climb on the roof to see where the boy had fallen. He then called for help from other residents who prised open metal shutters and contacted the emergency services.
Merseyside CID officers said Michael is now stable.
A Marsh Lane resident said: “We are all praying for him.”
