A WOMAN was arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire broke out in Liverpool’s Municipal Buildings.
The council building, in Dale Street, was evacuated after the fire was discovered in the downstairs ladies’ toilets at around 12.30pm yesterday.
Police and fire crews were called and a 27-year-old woman from north Liverpool was arrested.
A spokesman for Liverpool Council said the evacuation was a safety precaution.
He added: “The building was reopened within a relatively short period of time.”
