Alan Robinson’s sons to complete the Ardennes Chateau Weekend in his classic TR4 to celebrate his life

A PAIR of Aughton brothers will honour their father's life by driving his classic car to a rally in France.

Wine merchant Alan Robinson died from cancer, aged 58, and now his sons want to complete the Ardennes Chateau Weekend on his behalf.

Keith and Mark Robinson will drive their father's Triumph TR4 hundreds of miles to fulfil his dream of competing and raise funds for Macmillan nurses who cared for him.

Alan, credited with introducing Bodegas Campo Viejo to British palates, was first diagnosed with throat cancer three years ago, and although surgeons at Fazakerley hospital successfully removed the tumour, a terminal form of the disease returned and spread throughout his body.

Keith Robinson, 37, said: “The trip to Ardennes is an honour run for dad and an attempt to raise some money for Macmillan nurses. Every penny raised will go to them.”
