Top US drivers park at Liverpool's Sefton Park Palm House

MEMBERS from one of the world’s most prestigious motoring clubs will visit Liverpool’s Sefton Park Palm House on Sunday.

But they will be arriving by ship rather than motor car.

The American Automobile Association’s Club South chairman and 79 “Triple A” members will be taking afternoon tea at the Palm House during a visit to Liverpool by the five star cruise liner m/v Azamara Journey.

They will be greeted with a glass of Pimms each and welcomed by the Lord Mayor, Cllr Hazel Williams.

High tea will be provided by Heathcotes and music by the Savoy Jazz Band and the Strelitzia Quartet.

“This is the most important event we have staged for a group from abroad,” said Elizabeth-anne Williams, Palm House director.

“More than five million people will read about it in the AAA magazine, which is fantastic for the city.”
