Premier Inn’s most expensive hotel to be built in Liverpool

A LEADING hotel chain will build its most expensive building in Liverpool city centre.

Premier Inn was given planning permission to spend £11.5m building a new hotel in Hanover Street – one of the last remaining plots that remain of the Liverpool One development.

Two other hotel developments were also approved by the city’s planning committee yesterday, adding an extra 341 new rooms to Liverpool’s thriving hotel business.

A 123-bed hotel will be built in Dale Street with restaurant and bar along with a 285-space multi-storey car park.

It will see the preservation of the facades of the historically important Eagle Star building and Pioneer building.

Numbers 61 and 63 Dale Street, in between the two buildings, will be demolished and all three will be linked in the development.

The third planning application given approval is for a hotel across seven storeys in the Kansas Building in Stanley Street.

This would include 35 bedrooms across four floors, a restaurant and bar.

Earlier this week the Daily Post revealed that Liverpool’s hoteliers sold more rooms than ever before – 95,000 – during a record breaking July.
