New car park ready to open at Warrington Bank Quay train station

A NEW train station car park for commuters opens on September 4.

Two hundred new spaces have been created a short walk from Warrington Bank Quay station, on Slutchers Lane.

Jo Kaye, route director for Network Rail, who built the car park, said: “Providing car parking at railway stations is all about true transport integration – passengers driving short distances to the station to then use the railway.”

The car park, which costs £6 a day, has a drainage system with bacteria that eat oil, and matting that stops the growth of Japanese Knotweed.

The station’s existing car park will also be upgraded by September 20. It will close temporarily from September 4 for the upgrade work.
