A PRIEST paid tribute to his murdered brother describing him as his “guardian angel”.
Father James Finnigan’s poignant words came hours after police confirmed they had launched a murder inquiry into the death of his brother Brian, 65.
Brian’s body was discovered at his home of more than 20 years in Green Lane, Tuebrook, on Wednesday.
A murder hunt was launched after a post mortem examination concluded the pensioner had been strangled.
Fr Finnigan, 70, a retired Archdiocese of Liverpool priest, said: “He was a gentleman, my right hand man. A guardian angel. I am broken hearted.”
