LIVERPOOL-SCOTTISH battalion Piper James Axon, from Runcorn, played out the Daily Post’s West Highland Steam Express from Lime Street.
The eight-coach train, hauled by 1936-built Jubilee class No 5690 Leander, was on a four-day tour of the Scottish West Highlands.
The 200 passengers paid from £449 to £799 in premier class, for the 841-mile tour.
After leaving Liverpool Lime Street for Glasgow on Saturday the tour visited Fort Willam, Mallaig and Oban via some of Britan’s most dramatic scenery.
Overnight accommodation was in hotels at Glasgow and Fort WIlliam.
