Delifonseca, on Stanley Street, has been recognised with the award for Best Value for Money. The guide says: “This global bistro offers a popular refuge for shoppers seeking beefed-up sandwiches by day, while by night it serves up local goodies transformed into interesting international dishes.”
Another new entry is Peninsula Dining Room, in New Brighton, which was selected as this year’s Readers’ Favourite. Italian restaurant Da Piero, in Irby, celebrated its second year in the guide.
Last year it was listed as best new entry for the whole of the country. The 14-seat Italian restaurant, run by husband and wife team, Piero and Dawn Di Bella and son Alan, is described as: “A place that generates real warmth and affection, not least because of its honesty and genuinely passionate approach to Italian cooking.”
Wirral’s Michelin-starred restaurant Fraiche also returns to the guide, where it is described as having “mind-boggling food and sense-tingling thrills”.
