Ringo's home 300
Margaret McConnor, who was born in the parlour of Starr’s Madryn Street home in 1959, supported the move to list.
She said: “It was a good house to live in, a good street.
“I remember there was a party in one of the houses when I was a child and Paul McCartney and John Lennon came.
“I think it should remain where it is. I was born there for one thing, and Ringo was born there.”
Properties comprising the listed building bid include John Lennon’s teenage home, Mendips, on Menlove Avenue, the house Starr moved into in Admiral Grove, Paul McCartney’s home at Forthlin Road, and George Harrison’s childhood home in Arnold Grove. The gates and posts at Strawberry Fields will also feature.
A council spokesman said: “English Heritage already considered listing Madryn Street and decided against it.
“All the interiors have been changed in recent years, and this application will have to be considered in that context.”
The house is due to be demolished as part of the housing market renewal programme.
