A BY-ELECTION will take place this week to fill a Knowsley council seat vacant since the resignation of a councillor.
The Park ward seat, in Kirkby, will be contested by the Labour, Conservative and Liberal Democrat parties.
The seat was left empty after Park Ward Labour councillor Margaret Dobbie resigned over a “personal matter” in May this year, shortly after the local and general elections.
The candidates in the by-election are Tony Brennan for Labour, Gary Robertson for the Conservatives, and John White for the Liberal Democrats.
