Youtube video shows Everton fans beseiging Liverpool fan’s car after game with Manchester United

POLICE are investigating after a crowd of Everton fans besieged a Liverpool supporter's car as it drove through a packed Gwladys Street, immediately after Saturday's Manchester United match.

Officers are looking into how the red car was able to drive along the road, outside Goodison Park, which was closed to traffic at the time.

Footage of the incident posted online shows the car, driven by a man in a Liverpool shirt, surrounded by Everton fans yelling abuse and banging and rocking the vehicle.

Other videos show the number plate ripped from the car.

Ian Ross, Everton‘s head of public relations, said: “I know the police are investigating the incident and how the car got to be there.

“The car should not have been down that road. The road block should have stopped it. However, we would never condone any acts of violence against anyone, whoever they are."

A police spokesman confirmed the force were investigating.
