TEN new apprentices are starting work at the city’s parks and gardens.
They were recruited as part of a city council drive to employ more apprentices.
Their training was funded by a £40,000 grant from the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment and they will work with the council’s partner Glendale-Liverpool Ltd.
They will be joined by nine students who are spending a year with the council during their degree courses at Liverpool John Moores University.
Cllr Nick Small, cabinet member for Employment and Skills, said: “We are committed to creating 100 apprentices in the authority by the end of the financial year. It is vital we continue to show our commitment to employment and training.”
