A GENERAL practitioner accessed porn websites while working at a Liverpool surgery, a disciplinary panel heard.
Kenneth Mason was reported to the General Medical Council (GMC) after looking at the internet pages on his Kensington Park Practice computer. He was working as a locum at the time.
A GMC hearing in Manchester began yesterday into his conduct, and a panel will decide whether his fitness to practise as a doctor is impaired.
Dr Mason was not present and offered no defence, but, in a letter submitted to the panel, he said: “I bitterly regret my stupidity in accessing such sites. I can only say I would never do such a thing again.”
Dr Mason looked at the sites on several occasions between January 2 and May 24, 2007.
None of them contained illegal material.
